Welcome to Jefferson Local Development Corporation
Jefferson Local Development Corporation (JLDC) is Jefferson County Montana’s lead community and economic development organization. JLDC provides information, finance solutions and educational programs for business and community members. JLDC works toward business creation, expansion, retention and relocation by leveraging business and government resources.
Jefferson County is located in scenic southwest Montana and includes the communities of Whitehall, Boulder, Montana City, Clancy, Jefferson City, Basin, Cardwell and Elk Park.
JLDC is a private, non-profit, member-supported economic development organization. Human resources for the JLDC are provided through a unique partnership with MSU Extension and Jefferson County.

CORE FOUR Business Planning Course
The class will be held Thursday evenings in Boulder, Montana on February 11, 18, 25 and March 4 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Boulder City Hall. CORE FOUR is designed to help people develop ideas for starting and expanding their own businesses and understand the business planning process. Topics include developing a marketing plan, projecting cash flow and understanding standard business operating procedures. People with ideas for starting a new business, owners of growing businesses, struggling business owners and those seeking business financing are encouraged to attend. The fee for the course is $149. Come share your ideas for the Historic Borden's building in downtown Whitehall
The JLDC is in the process of acquiring the Borden’s building in an effort to sustain
Whitehall’s downtown and keep the building operational. Ideas and input for the
building’s future are sought from the community. Everyone is invited and
encouraged to attend.

Request for Proposals to Clean out an Old Building and Conduct a Sale of Contents The Jefferson Local Development Corporation (JLDC) is seeking proposals for cleaning out a 10,000 square foot building, organizing and administering a sale of the contents and hauling things of no value to the dump. JLDC intends to use the proceeds of the
sale to fund repairs to the building so that it can be suitable for businesses.
Preference will be given to Whitehall area residents, people with retail, estate sale experience and knowledge of the value of vintage items. The clean-up needs to begin immediately and be scheduled no later than the weekend of March 26, 2010.
Proposals must be received by February 12 at 10:00 a.m. by the JLDC. A walk-through will be planned for bidders. Please contact our office by February 5th for details of the walk-through at 287-3282.

Request for Proposals for Roof Replacement The Jefferson Local Development Corporation is seeking bids for the replacement of a roof on the Borden’s building at 101 East Legion Street in Whitehall, MT.
The project includes removing the existing roofing down to the roof structure, repairing roof structure as needed and installing new roofing and insulation.
Roof assembly is to have a Class A fire rating, a minimum of 10 year warranty, maximum R value, rain gutters and downspouts. Disposal of all materials in
compliance with all state codes is required. Outline Specifications for the project are

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held Jefferson Local Development Corporation offices, 309 East Legion Avenue, Whitehall, MT 59759 at 10:00 a.m. on February 5, 2010. A
tour and inspection of the project will be conducted immediately following the Pre-Bid Conference.
Sealed bids will be received at the Jefferson Local Development Corporation offices, 309 East
Legion Avenue, Whitehall, MT 59759. The deadline for submitting bids is 10:00 a.m., on
